OUR PROCESSSuccessful builders and remodelers employ a systems approach to managing a project. With the myriad of details to track, the quality control needed, and the unexpected, a system keeps everything in its placeresulting in happy clients. Our process begins with the initial call from a homeowner, during which we ask questions that allow us to evaluate the homeowners' scope of work, timetable and availability for a on-site meeting. If there is strong enough interest, we ask the homeowner to fill out our online pre-meeting questionnaire which will help us conduct our initial meeting. A date and time is set when the homeowner(s) are available for approximately two hours to review the scope of the project. After that meeting, a detailed estimate is prepared. At the next meeting, the estimate is reviewed, adjustments made, followed by drawings that reflect the adjustments. Once the drawing meets the homeowners' expectations, a formal contract is drafted complete with financial and legal responsibilities for both parties. Once construction is underway, on-site management team members keep homeowners up-to-date on progress and any issues. If the plans change along the wayand as any homeowner knows who has gone through this process before, ideas occur to homeowners that they didn't consider early ona change order is agreed upon in writing to eliminate any unexpected expenses. After the construction phase is complete, a "walk-through" is conducted, whereby any small overlooked item is noted for correction. Upon correction, the project is declared "finished" and Starburst's warranty period takes effect. Approximately six months after the finish of the project, Starburst staff checks back with the homeowners to be sure they are still pleased with the work, and a request for comments is made. |
